NeoNiche Strategies launched its old school meets new school brand in Clarendon neighborhood, to meet the fast-evolving needs of organizations. 3 years young with a combined 51 years hands-on experience, our fresh, seasoned and innovative team has supported advertising agencies, corporations, event organizers, government agencies, non-profit organizations, research firms and small businesses to provide a variety of services, including creative, logistics, outreach and opportunity discovery. We believe in setting expectations correctly, remaining accountable, providing results, out of the box creativity and lasting relationships.

Mark J. Mooney Jr., Chief Executive Officer

Mark is a trailblazing entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience supporting the new business development efforts of small businesses, start-ups, nonprofits, government organizations and corporations. Prior to establishing NeoNiche Strategies, Mark held a number of leading sales and business development positions, including with Washingtonpost.com to establish a significant presence with restaurants, retailers, convention & visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce and community organizations on the Delmarva Peninsula.

As a business development and community outreach strategist, Mark has worked in a variety of capacities with Arlington County Commuter Services, Blue Wolf Events, City of Alexandria, Clarendon Alliance, Elite Racing, Marine Corps Marathon, Pacers Events, Pulsar Advertising, San Francisco Marathon, Southeastern Institute of Research, Sherpa Prep and Vibrant Health & Wellness Foundation.

Mark has been a major force in creating many successful events and online marketing platforms in the National Capital Region. Mark and his team led the collaboration with the Peterson Companies, Gaylord Resort, Prince William County Executive Office & Police Department and Capital Running Company to establish the Riverfront Revolution 10k at the National Harbor in Prince George's County. The inaugural event attracted 2,000 participants and attendees.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Mark is well versed in developing innovative concepts, and is no stranger to the challenges of the start-ups, small businesses, nonprofits and government organizations he now serves. He has spent ten years as a business owner handling all the responsibilites of administration, employee and contractor management, project oversight and revenue generation. After his lengthy career as an entrepreneur, Mark now enjoys helping organizations grow to achieve the same success he has enjoyed.

Mark earned a BS in Education from the University of Vermont. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, walking, playing basketball, flag football and ice hockey. He has served on the Joy of Sports Foundation Board of Directors as the Chair of the Marketing & Development Committee.

Rebecca Dunn, Chief Operating Officer
Rebecca joined NeoNiche Strategies after three years as General Manager with Archstone, a leader in residential property management. Prior to that, she worked for more than a decade in the hospitality industry with some of the country's finest hotels, including the Sheraton National Hotel (Arlington, VA), Antlers Hilton (Colorado Springs) and the Brown Palace Hotel (Denver). Most recently as Director of Rooms at Sheraton National, Rebecca oversaw day-to-day operations, strategic planning, vendor relations and training while managing a $16M budget and 95 employees.

Rebecca is a multi-faceted professional who combines operations expertise and business acumen to increase productivity and exceed business objectives. She has a solid track record for forging and maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships. Rebecca provides NeoNiche clients with a wealth of experience and expertise in customer service, brand management, process improvement, cost control, personnel management and administration.

Rebecca earned her BBA in Management and Marketing from Andrews University. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, reading, exploring new things and volunteering with nonprofit organizations, such as Susan G. Koman (Race for the Cure), American Diabetes Association (Tour de Cure) and Habitat for Humanity.

Barbara Hansen, Chief Marketing Officer

A 25 year Detroit ad agency executive, Barbara recently relocated to Washington, DC and joined the NeoNiche team to lead account services and develop new growth strategies for business development. She is an experienced advertising professional with a core marketing and communications background that covers a wide range of disciplines, including business development, program management, media and communications planning and media negotiations.

During her 15 year tenure as media director, she was responsible for communications planning and buying for a variety of accounts including Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford Motor Dealer Associations, Lincoln Mercury Division, Eastern Airlines, Aetna, Coca-Cola, Heublein and Miller Beer.

Barbara was a representative on the GM Media Council negotiating corporate contracts with leading national group publishers. She also led the agency's initiative to develop custom multi-media programs with companies such as Time Warner, Times Mirror and Meredith on behalf of all the agency's clients in Detroit and New York.

More recently, Barbara provided publicity for the Friends of Wayne State University School of Medicine, creating their website and facilitating an application and review process for student lead organizations soliciting funding support for various local and international medical mission activities. She was also involved with several Detroit area charities including the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Barbara has a Bachelor of Communications Arts & Sciences from Michigan State University (Advertising Major).

Elise Gebauer
, Creative Specialist
Elise started her career as an intern at Starbridge Media Group where she provided innovative designs (print and web) for professional sports teams across the Mid Atlantic region. Some of these included the media guide for the Philadelphia Independence Women's Professional soccer team and web design projects for the Washington Capital's Kids Club site and a children's publication for the University of South Carolina. Another design project was for the Chesapeake children's Therapy Center and a brochure for the P. Buckley Moss Foundation.

At NeoNiche Strategies, Elise has provided graphic design expertise on a variety of accounts including Arlington County Commuter Services, City of Alexandria, Sherpa Prep, Dogma Bakery, Capital Running Company and Flyer Monsters.

Elise graduated from Marymount University with a BA in Graphic Design. As a four-year member of Marymount's Women's Soccer Team Elise also served as captain during her junior and senior years. Elise still enjoys playing soccer twice a week on the FXA and NVASA leagues. Elise is an annual volunteer for the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure.

Heather Wessel, Account Manager
Heather is a self-starter who thrives in creative, evolving and green environments. She holds an MBA from City University and has over nine years of experience in Project Management, Personnel Management, Finance and Accounting, Event Management and Training. Her experience spans the Renewable Energy, Retail, Entertainment, Health and Wellness and Hospitality industries. Heather is adept at balancing multiple and diverse assignments and is passionate about organizations and assignments designed to serve the public which led her to NeoNiche Strategies.

In her free time she volunteers at George Washington University Hospital, enjoys traveling (backpacked through Europe for 2 months), reading, creating new ideas and things to do, meeting new people, dancing and martial arts. She is a black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Heather enjoys the environmental, financial and athletic aspects of being green and getting around Arlington and the metro Washington DC area without a vehicle.

Kelsey Carter, Operations Specialist

Kelsey recently moved here from Canberra, Australia where she attended the University of Canberra. She holds a Bachelors degree in Public Relations and a Graduates Degree in Marketing Communication.

Kelsey has been living overseas for the past 10 years and during that time worked for Fleishman-Hilliard International Communications in Manila, Philippines specializing in media relations, client relations and strategy. She has also worked in various branches of US Embassies across South East Asia.

When Kelsey is not working she is running with her dog, taking dance classes or reading.

Nick Hanson, Multimedia Manager
Nick is a young, motivated, locally-grown media professional with a wealth of experience on both sides of the camera. After receiving his B.A. in Media Production from George Mason University, Nick worked as a video editor for three years with Cortina Productions in McLean, VA. His credits include signature films and interactive displays for the UNC Basketball Museum, the Bethal Woods Center for the Performing Arts and the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame, among others.

Nick has also worked for other local companies as a videographer, an audio-visual technician, and an instructor of radio production and audio and video editing.

When not behind the camera or in the edit suite, Nick can often be found on-camera or on stage. Nick has worked as a professional actor, model and disc jockey, both locally and in Los Angeles. His credits include several local commercials, independent films and an appearance on Bravo's hit show Millionaire Matchmaker.

Nick's experience in production and performance gives him a unique, well rounded perspective that he brings to any and all projects.

In his free time, Nick loves to hike, fish, play basketball, golf, make music and travel.
